Many of the projects completed involved acting as specialist remediation contractor but equally Englobe has often been Principal Contractor. Most of the sites we have remediated contained a mix of contaminants, typically containing mixed fill with asbestos, organic contaminants such as PAHs, VOCs, chlorinated solvents and oils and a range of inorganic contaminants such as heavy metals. We have undertaken numerous gasworks remediation projects including gasholder dewatering/de-oiling. We are licensed to provide the on-site treatment of recovered water prior to disposal to sewer under a temporary trade discharge consent and treatment of sludges to enable re-use of the treated material.
Englobe operates an Integrated Management System certified by SGS to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001: 2018 Occupational Health & Safety. We are accredited with Construction Line Gold, CHAS Premium Plus, SMASS SSIP, Builders Profile, South Wales Construction Safety, Achilles UVDB and Achilles UVDB Building Confidence and Cyber Essentials. 90% of our employees hold a CSCS platinum card and we have been RoSPA Gold Award winners for the past 7 years in a row.
It is compulsory that all Englobe operational staff have valid CSCS cards, appropriate to their job description. In addition, all Site Supervisors hold a valid CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) qualification and all Managers hold a valid CITB Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification. Englobe also participates, on a site by site basis in the Considerate Constructors scheme (CCS), in which we have previously been Awarded a National Scheme Bronze award.
We are licensed to undertake on-site soil and groundwater treatment under our Environmental Permits (formerly Mobile Treatment Licenses (MTL)) in England and Wales (EAWML30379), Scotland (WML/L/1062905) and Northern Ireland (LN/11/35). Englobe was the first company in the UK to obtain and utilise an MTL.
